One Response to “October 30, 2012”

My overall comment is that the “feminist” movement within the Liberal thinking mindset can be very ineffective. First of all, I am a Liberal myself and believe that government needs to be part of our way of pursuing daily activity and disagree with the simplistic notion of “To Privatize” everything. From the discussion it appeared that the feminists on the radio show I mention below were those who seem to dismiss men or only accept them if men are humble and lowly and that for me is completely unacceptable. Recently I listened and called in a Liberal radio show in Los Angeles called “Feminist Magazine” in response to the show’s very strong comments about finally having the first female President and couldn’t wait for that to happen. When I called in I stated that the feminist viewpoint was very dangerous and instead what should have been said is that the feminists look forward to the first woman president that has a liberal mindset, not just the First Woman President. I then went onto say on the show to just imagine a Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman and the like elected as President… Imagine how the Conservatives would jump for joy to tell the feminists that they, the feminists, now need to be Conservatives because they, the Conservatives, are the first ones to elect a Woman President! (Not a good idea.) I told the radio show that I certainly would support male Liberal candidates so that the Conservative type woman would not be elected. That would simply be awful. I also provided 5 Liberal Women’s names and the “educated” one on the panel said that it was funny that I could only think of five liberal women’s names for President. It was as if my providing only five solid women’s names to the list of Presidential candidates would be a disservice to the cause of women. At that point I was very insulted and naturally, the discussion became heated and pretty much ended. Later on in the radio broadcast another feminist speaker said that War is a “Woman’s Issue” and again I was upset because I then thought that well, what happens to men in a War situation? I called into the radio show and complained and told them that War is a “People Issue” not only a Women’s issue. Later I was thinking to myself that indeed War would become exclusively a Women’s issue only when all the men fighting in the War would be returned home and women were the only ones left in the battlefield. (Of course I would be opposed to that happening, naturally…) Now, if that were to happen then, at that point, I would be Ok to concede that War would then be solely a Women’s Issue. I find the Feminist Movement to be extremely divisive within the Liberal movement and because of that I find their activity rude and non-productive and thus want no part of it. However, I do support Women’s rights for work and pay, for equally funding programs in the schools, for who they wish to share their lives with, etc. but I would not agree with making men submit to a second place role or be underclass to women. That too is very destructive. What do you have to say about that?
