Ok my retail story. I was working at Macy’s in Houston. My co worker was a funny Columbian guy. I was passing by the counter and Bernardo was with a customer returning an Armani dress shirt. I noticed that she had rammed the shirt in the bag and it was VERY wrinkled. I must have made a face because Bernardo got a gleam in his eye and continued with the lady. He processed the return and handed the lady her cash. Without missing a beat he pulled out the trash can from behind the counter and threw the shirt away and told the lady to have a nice day. You should have seen the look on her face. After she left I took the shirt to the taylor shop pressed it up and returned it to the sales floor. I have a million other stories. I worked retail on the Vegas Strip for 10 years in high end hotels. Maybe we can write a book together!!!!

Natan, Mass. is exactly the example you should be using to prove how voting – even in a heavily Red or Blue state – DOES make a difference. No one I know here in Boston ever thought a Republican would win the seat held for nearly 47 years by Ted Kennedy. My belief, that it was more an anti-Coakley vote than a pro-Brown vote, shows how much even your Primary vote counts.
Louis, I’ve lost respect for you as a clear & individual thinker. I loved George Carlin too but, he was wrong about your vote not counting. Plato put it best: “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.”
Your believing that your work on this show makes a bigger difference than your vote smacks of a younger generation’s desire for immediate results via caller reactions. Sadly, your thinking on voting brings the whole show down several points.
PS – Wasn’t happy, either, about having to watch the Scott Brown ad lead-in to your show on YT.

Retail tales:
Used to work at “large grocery store” (read Safeway), we had customers who would come in and hang out in the bulk foods aisle bascially having their dinners by grazing in the bins. Particularly popular were the chocolate covered almonds and cashews that were significantly more dear than some of the other items on the aisle. These are the kind of people who think that eating grapes is not shoplifting, they are really just test-driving the product before a purchase
Anyway I began approaching these “test-drivers” in bulk foods to ask if they had stepped onto the scale we installed inside the front door of the store? This usually elicited puzzled looks above chomping mouths and a shake of the head, “Err no, didn’t climb on any scale…”
“So how do we know how much to charge you, then?” It turns out even grazers can be embarrassed.
I remember a particular family of shoplifters who we nabbed that had their parkas so stuffed with items that they began falling out in a Hansel and Gretel-like trail behind them. After following the packs of bacon, twinkies and cheetos through the store and coming upon the family of 3 who must have weighed a combined 2000 lbs, they were made to open their coats, not a single head of broccoli or apple was to be found amongst all the bags of potato chips, pizza pops and other crap, go figure. We also let the health food nuts go free, someone forgot to tell them.
Lastly David, the security system must be a new advertiser, WOW that small print declaration you read at the end was annoying, I was waiting for you to begin listing side-effects…
Keep up the good work boys, love the show!
