I attended a class given by NanMcKay on HUD Inspections. During the class the instructor stated that Mitt Romney, if he gets in office, will be eliminating HUD and Section 8 programs. At another seminar the instuctor there made the same comment. I work for an agency that has many government programs for low income to no income families. I really would like to know if this is truely his plan on doing away with these programs.

One thing regarding the Chick-fil-A debacle: the right seems to have successfully distracted and confused people from the real issue with the organization, which is that their corporate donations wing (WinShape) has donated over $5 million to right-wing organizations. These organizations (such as Family Research Council and Focus on the Family) are actively working to fight gay marriage, repeal and block anti-discrimination laws, and even having voiced support for a Ugandan bill to punish homosexuality by the death penalty. Dan Cathy is a bigoted public figure, and that alone may be reason enough to boycott Chick-fil-A, but the anti-gay donations are (and have been for several years) the most serious issue with patronizing Chick-fil-A. In my opinion, the whole “first amendment” thing is a huge, calculated distraction.
