Your comment about Obama making fun about a Bulldog being tasty as an inappropriate comment/joke is well founded and understood. However, as an Asian American born and raised in America and often made to feel like a perpetual foriegner in this country by those who assume that because of my appearence I don’t really belong here and am personally harming Americas canine population because of my percieved diet. I could only laugh at what Obama said and was able to relate to it also because there really is nothing to be said, but if I don’t say anything or if Obama didn’t say anything then the attacks on Asian people and what they eat will just continue on as it has now for all of my life. Obama was able to laugh at the comment hurled at him to show the world what kind of people would use that against him, our President.

I agree — the pit bull joke was not helpful and kills the campaign’s chance to do further ribbing on Romney’s “doggie-gate”. Michelle was incredulous.
Most of America didn’t know that Obama had eaten dog as a kid, and most who did realized that as a kid he had little control over his diet. Now, all of that has changed.
