Ahh, I cringe every time you use the phrase “partial-birth abortion.” That’s anti-choice/Republican nutbag rhetoric of the worst stripe. Partial-birth abortion is not a medical term nor does it accurately describe the procedure. The procedure is called Dilation & Extraction. Regardless of what those idiots in the Supreme Court say, no doctor would call it “partial-birth.” Well, maybe the doctors at Bachmann’s clinic…

In response to Cee Lo Green’s changing the lyrics of “Imagine”:

First off, I agree that I found it offensive that Cee Lo changed the lyrics to “Imagine” and morphed it into something that was the antithesis of Lennon’s original intention. But that did give me pause to think about the Supreme Court’s “originalism” argument. While I understand the scope of what the court does has far more impact on us than a pop song/poem, is the argument that it is wrong when an artist interprets a piece of work differently from the author’s original intent consistent with a conservative’s view of strict constructionalism? I do not like the concept of originalism but I do not like the idea of someone not taking into account an author’s original intent.
