–Newt Gingrich promises a moon base by the end of his second term.

–Did Newt Gingrich commit a felony by saying he would offer Sarah Palin a major role in his administration?

–After benefiting greatly from audience applause, Newt Gingrich threatens to boycott debates without applause.

–Nancy Pelosi insists she knows something about Newt Gingrich that would prevent him from becoming President.

–David gets some birthday gifts from fans in the mail.

–A marijuana-based prescription drug could get FDA approval, and we discuss how this would affect the war on drugs.

–Scientists claim a major breakthrough in seaweed biofuel.

–When we read that a political staffer’s cat had been killed and a political message was scrawled on his body, it was obvious that the perpetrator was a conservative and the victim a liberal.

–The Colorado Republican Party is now pushing for guns in kindergarten classrooms.

–Emails about David being an idiot.

    Okay…who in the world would actually sleep with Newt? Speaking as a gay man here, the sight of him makes me want to vomit, and I am sure that women must feel the same?

    Hello David,

    Regarding your recent podcast about legalization of MJ, I wanted to add something as a former tobacco executive who worked for over a decade in operations/product development/manufacturing. When you pyrolize (burn) organic leaf like tobacco or marihuana, there are literally thousands of chemical constituents produced. The smoke chemistry is very complex, but the bottom line is neither is a healthy habit if the product is inhaled regularly. Smoke constituents like TSNA’s are tobacco specific, but many others are not ( CO, PAH’s, Hydrogen Cyanide). Selective filtering is not very effective, so alternatives like electronic devices that superheat the product to release water vapor. volatile flavors and the active ingredients, do solve the vast majority of the health risks associated with smoking. Nevertheless, entrenched special interests have no desire to change the current paradigm. There is simply too much money to be made through sin taxes and corporate profits.

    As an aside, I quite smoking the day I left the industry and can only stress the benefits of quitting…or better yet, never starting.

    Wait a minute! Just listened to this programme & you just let Gingrich’s absurd promise to make a moon base the 51st state slip by without comment? Since when did the moon belong to the US, to do with as it will?

    Okay, if everyone is walking around carrying guns to defend themselves, will Republicans cut the police force to lower taxes? I mean, why would we read them if we revert back to anarchy, and all become cowboys/girls?

    This is another reason why Obama should not try to bridge the partisan gap – they are NUTTERS, absolutely and utterly insane!

    David, you mentioned Reagan and the SAG.

    To the best of my recollection, Reagan was

    1) A mole, infiltrating the Screen Actors’ Guild for the protoneocon Commie hunters at the FBI.

    2) On the dole during the Great Depression, with his dad. Ergo the old saying, “If you want to live to adulthood to become Republicans, vote for Democrats.”

    Nutter – one who gathers nuts. It is also a slang word for a mentally ill person. Yes, republicans are nutters, and should be captured, neutered or spayed.

    How is killing this kid’s cat + leaving it at their doorstep different from a horse’s head put in a guy’s bed?

    More than animal cruelty or hate crime, its violence mafia-style, and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And yes, it is intended to terrorize.
