What about the real war criminals? The Bill Clinton administration that starved to death 1.5 million men, women and children (the same amount of people who were starved to death by the British genocide of the Irish potato famine)! George W. Bush who destroyed the food supplies, water supplies, power supplies and medical supplies of the Iraqui people who had nothing to do with 911. As if the Bush’s who are close friends with the Taliban family had nothing to do with it!

Why did you not call out your guest on Carter. What he said about failing on the hostage issue was a flat out lie. The Carter team did resolve the hostage issue through much negotiation. Unless you think Regan did while he was giving his inauguration speech. There is in evidence that the Regan staff actually had a hand in blocking release till he captured office. The hostages were released 5 minutes after Regan took office. Carter took less time to resolve issue then Obama did to resolve this one; do the math.
Why is no one asking why an autopsy on Osama wasn’t done? Wouldn’t that provide evidence of demise or are we all supposed to believe, once again, government? After all, administrations never lie do they?

I’m concerned that the degree of predictive pessimism have increased over the last few weeks. I miss your consideration of the positive outcomes of today’s circumstance. Example: there was several minutes of criticism about Obama’s successful strike on Bin Laden and little emphasis of how difficult it will be for those who’ve most strongly opposed Obama as those same opponent’s base have little choice but to now see Obama as a hero. (see the praise from the gutless gasbag Rush)

your show on FSTV is the best thing they now have and I really miss it now that they are in pledge drive- believe it or not you guys make my saturday nights- you are totally cool and Louis is a great asset- the perfect foil and I’ll be he’s a great bartender too! I keep thinking maybe I was your busdriver in Northampton when I drove the school routes- you look familiar, but maybe that’s because your mug is plastered all over the Daily Hampster, etc. You didn’t ride the special needs route, did you? anyway, you are exceptional! and if you read my comment on air I promise I’ll find my way to Mc Fadden’s pub and – I don’t know what I’ll do if I see Louis in person- signed, gaga fan

Oof, pretty disappointed in the Osama death coverage. I’m not sure if I’d call myself progressive or libertarian, perhaps both or either depending on the issue. I’ve been really enjoying your show over the past few weeks and months, but boy was I put off by the Democrat-Republican paradigm that you fell into with this coverage.

I’ll start with the least of the issues, but perhaps the most annoying. You lampooned Fox News (and affiliates) for making the Obama/Osama mixup when you made it yourself, I think I caught it at least twice. You opened your interview with the same joke, then your guest made the same mistake. It’s common and when both names are floating around your head it’s excusable.

The bigger issues, though, actually relate to the actual death, the coverage, and the ramifications. You dismissed the legitimate questions about the legality of this killing (or was it an assassination of a reportedly unarmed man?). You dismissed the questions surrounding the circumstances and the questions about what’s being reported, or let out, and what may or may not have actually happened, seemingly because it was carried out under Obama’s watch, however you were interested in questions about Bush’s apparent lack of fervor because of ties with the bin Laden family. Plus, the years of intelligence gathering that lead to this were at least partially under Bush.

The bottom line is that true progressive values would hold both Bush’s and Obama’s feet to the fire about the actions undertaken to arrive at this point. The delight in the death of a man who himself delighted in death is bitterly ironic and frankly disgusting. I’m glad you at least made mention of the questionability of hoards of USA USA USA chanting goons celebrating the death of a man, who despite his past, has not been charged or convicted of any crimes.

Daivd, excellent single payer column in today’s gazette.the best example of government efficiency is the TSP–less than 20 basis points vs ca. 3500 basis points annual cost for job linked health insurance. we need insurance out of health care entirely.

Missed the point in your outrage about Denny. He said his wife’s small business is struggling and that as a result, she hasn’t taken a salary.

Obama and Holder wanted to charge interrogators with Geneva Convention violations and Obama orders the execution of an unarmed “enemy combatant.” and that’s suddenly OK. Boy it’s nice to have two sets of rules – one when you are not in office and another when you are.
